Supported school fingerprint machines can push punches to the system once the server address is set and each device ID is linked to an admission number.

A gate tablet with the Nipun gate app scans the student QR card or recognises enrolled faces, and records check-in and check-out.

Mark staff present, absent, leave or half day, or take check-in and check-out times from the gate device, with daily gate reports.

Absent alerts that reach parents the same day
Most families want one thing from school attendance: to know quickly if their child did not reach school. With Nipun Schools, the teacher marks the class and saves. If absent alerts are on, the parent gets a WhatsApp message and an app notification for that child.
You choose how alerts go out:
- Instant: as soon as the teacher saves attendance.
- Scheduled: after a set time, such as 10:30 AM, so late arrivals can be corrected first.
- Manual: the teacher or office taps send absent alerts for a class.
Alerts go only for today's attendance, never for past dates, and not on holidays in your calendar. A child already alerted is not messaged again for the same day. Every message is logged in the WhatsApp alerts report. Messages go from your school's connected WhatsApp number, with a WhatsApp Business template service as a backup. Gate attendance and staff attendance
Many schools are happy with teachers marking in class. If you want automatic check-in at the gate, there are three options:
- Fingerprint machine: supported machines push punches to the system. You link each device ID to an admission number.
- QR card: students show the QR on their ID card and the gate tablet scans it.
- Face: enrol student photos, pair a gate tablet, and it recognises the face.
Gate check-in and check-out can send a WhatsApp message to parents, and you can switch this on or off for each. Staff attendance works the same way: mark it by hand, or take times from the gate device and view daily gate reports.

Questions schools ask
Do we need a biometric machine?
No. Teachers can mark attendance from the app or a browser. Fingerprint, QR card and face scan at the gate are optional.
Will parents get duplicate messages?
No. A child who has already been alerted is skipped for that day, and no alerts go for past dates or holidays.
Which WhatsApp number sends the alerts?
Your school links its own WhatsApp number by scanning a QR code. A WhatsApp Business template service can be used as a backup when set up.
Can students be marked late or on leave?
Yes. Statuses include present, absent, leave, late and half day. Late counts as present in the totals.
Which fingerprint machines work?
Machines that can push data to a server address, such as some ZKTeco and Secureye models. Please share your model with us before buying.
Can we see how many alerts were sent?
Yes. The WhatsApp alerts report shows what was sent, to whom and whether it failed.
