How exams and report cards work with Nipun

Exam season is where office work piles up fastest. Teachers enter marks for many subjects, the office calculates totals, grades and ranks, and report cards must be printed and signed before the parent meeting. A single wrong formula in an Excel sheet can mean reprinting a whole class's report cards.

Nipun Schools follows the exam pattern your school uses. For state-board schools that means CCE: formative assessments (FA1 to FA4) and summative assessments (SA1, SA2) with the grading the board prescribes. Schools can also set up unit tests, term exams, and SSC 10th pre-final and practice exams. The pattern is set once at the start of the year with maximum marks per subject, so every later calculation follows the same rules.

From marks entry to report card

1. Exam setup. The office creates the exam, picks classes and subjects, and sets maximum marks and the timetable. Hall tickets can be printed for each student.
2. Marks entry. Each subject teacher enters marks for their own subject from a phone or computer. The system does not accept marks above the maximum, which prevents most typing mistakes.
3. Automatic results. Totals, percentages, grades and ranks are calculated the same way for every student, so there are no formula errors.
4. Report cards. Report cards print in the school's format with the logo, attendance and teacher remarks, and parents can see results in the app.

Using results to help students

Because marks are stored subject-wise for the whole year, the principal can see which subjects a class is weak in and which students need extra support before the board exams, instead of finding out only after the final results.
